SAS SOS as 4,000 jobs to go

Scandinavian flagship carrier SAS is to cut 4,000 jobs as part of a package to achieve savings of up to €875m within 18 months.

Scandinavian Airlines System said in a statement the measures were intended to 'ensure the group's profitability, long-term competitiveness and efficient flight operations for the group's airlines'.

SAS is already implementing two restructuring programmes.
