The decision by Aer Rianta to increase its rental charges at Dublin Airport led Cityjet to move its headquarters to Swords, the airline has said.
Chief executive Geoffrey O'Byrne-White said the airport operator had attempted to raise the airline's rent at the airport by 140% last year.
Speaking at the launch of a E2m investment programme, he also said the company had to consider the high cost of parking at the airport. He added that while the operation would prefer to be based where its services were, costs were 'prohibitive'.
Air France owned Cityjet is one of a number of airlines supporting a new terminal at the airport.
