A new Cork-based regional airline, called Jetmagic, has announced that it plans to operate routes from Cork to the UK and continental Europe.
Jetmagic, which says it will create 145 jobs in the region, is backed by a number of Cork-based investors, and has raised over €5m in private equity.
It says it will offer services to and from European business capitals, using a fleet of Embraer 135 regional jets, which can seat 37 passengers.
Speaking at the launch of the airline this morning, the company's chief executive Patrick Raftery said flights would begin in April but it would not be announcing details of the destinations or seat prices until the middle of next month.
