Aer Lingus is to decide on using an all-Boeing or all-Airbus fleet for its short haul flights by April.
Aer Lingus currently flies a mixed fleet of Airbus, Boeing and BAE Systems planes, which chief executive Willie Walsh says pushes up costs. He told Reuters that management would report back to the board in March or April with a final plan.
Walsh also confirmed that BAe 146 planes, which are used on the route to London City airport, would be scrapped. Because of operational limitations, Aer Lingus's other types of plane would not be able to use London City.
