Stock markets around the world are preparing to close down for the western Christmas and New Year holidays, with some exchanges staying shut for five days.
Dublin's Stock Exchange is shut on Christmas Eve and St Stephen's Day and will re-open on December 27. It will also be shut on New Year's Day.
Markets in Frankfurt, Milan and Madrid will be closed December 24, 25, 26 and 31, as well as January 1.
In Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Lisbon, trading will end at lunchtime on December 24 and will remain closed through December 25 and 26, as well as shutting down on January 1. There will be a normal trading day on December 31.
The London Stock Exchange will close at lunchtime on December 24 and 31 and will not function on December 25 and 26 and January 1.
In New York, Wall Street will close early on December 24 and will also be closed on December 25. The market in Tokyo was closed today for a holiday but will be open on December 24 and 25.
