The Director of Corporate Enforcement has announced that from this evening details of all companies undergoing liquidation will be published on the web site of his office.
Paul Appleby said this afternoon that the details of 281 companies and their liquidators would appear on the site.
Under new legislation, liquidators of insolvent companies must notify the Director of Corporate Enforcement and prepare a report on the conduct of the companies' directors. The ODCE will then decide whether to recommend that the liquidator applies to the High Court to have the directors restricted, which bars them from acting as company directors for five years. These decisions will also be published on the ODCE web site.
