Minco shareholders today heard that the company is firmly focused on drilling its block in Pallas Green, Co Limerick. Widespread zinc mineralisation has been discovered in the area.
Company chairman John Teeling told the Minco AGM that to date 11 holes have been drilled in Pallas Green in 2002. Two are in progress and three more remain in the programme, which is a joint venture with international mining company Noranda.
Minco said that high-grade zinc mineralisation has now been discovered in four different areas along the Pallas Green mineral trend, which extends for 25km.
'We now have one of the most exciting zinc prospects in the world. In a time of almost universal gloom in base metals, Minco is glowing brightly,' Teeling told shareholders.
