It was a mixed day on the jobs front today with Co Cork gaining 60 new jobs and Co Donegal losing 55.
Up to 60 new jobs will be provided through a €17.5 million investment in a company in Cork which manufactures diagnostic products for the healthcare sector.
Amersham Health, which employs 300 people at Carrigtohill made the announcement today at a function to mark the expansion of the plant.
A company on the Udaras na Gaeltachta industrial estate in Gweedore, Co Donegal, is to make 55 of its workers redundant next month. SMTC produces electronic components for the motor industry.
Its staff have been on a three day week for the past few months and it is now announcing that more than half its workforce will lose their jobs.
