British airports operator BAA has reported a slight rise in passenger numbers in July compared with the same month last year, though the lucrative transatlantic market remained depressed.
Its seven British airports handled 12.9 million passengers, up 0.4% on a year ago. Traffic on North Atlantic routes was 9.1% lower.
Low cost carriers boosted domestic and European traffic, however, while Irish traffic grew by 6.6%.
