Bathroom products manufacturer Qualceram Shires has announced a number of operational measures, which it says will improve both customer service levels and the group's cost base.
Qualceram Shires says it wants to enter into a number of strategic alliances for the supply of products with European ceramic manufacturers and it wants to increase output from its production facilities at Arklow, Co Wicklow and Longton, Stroke-on-Trent. Arklow is the company's headquarters.
The company has also said it will seek up to 95 redundancies at its ceramic production plant in Hanley, Stroke-on-Trent, which currently employs 207 people.
'The initiatives outlined today will ensure that our customers' service levels are met into the future at an appropriate cost base,' CEO John O'Loughlin said.
'By building strategic partnerships with European suppliers, we are confident that we will have the flexibility to meet the requirements of our customers,' he added in a statement today.
