Dublin is the third most expensive capital city in the EU, according to a cost of living survey by Mercer Human Resource Consulting.
With New York used as a base of 100 points, London is the most expensive EU city with a score of 91, Copenhagen is second with 69.3, with Dublin third on 67.5, just ahead of Paris.
Dublin is 73rd in the world list, while London is 10th. Hong Kong and Moscow were the world's most expensive cities, with Johannesburg the cheapest of the 144.
Mercer researcher Marie-Laurence Sepede said there was little evidence of retailers raising prices because of the euro changeover, though many service providers had increased charges.
The survey shows that the gap between the world's most and least expensive companies has narrowed by 15% in the last year, as increasing globalisation has meant that international companies are producing more high-quality items locally.
