Rusnak charged on 7 counts

AIB rogue trader John Rusnak has been charged for his alleged role in the trading scandal that lost the bank $690 million.

The former currency trader at AIB's US arm Allfirst, was named in documents lodged in the US courts, alleging seven different counts of criminal misconduct including bank fraud, false entry in bank records and aiding and abetting.

The investigation into Rusnak, and the traders he dealt with, has been going on for four months.

Last week AIB chairman Lochlain Quinn said Rusnak had been cooperating fully with FBI investigations.
