Strong dollar hitting Fyffes' costs

The chairman of fruit and vegetable distributor Fyffes has told shareholders that its performance in the first five months of this year has been as expected, with prices and exchange rates broadly similar to last year.

Neil McCann told the company's AGM that the strong US dollar was still having a 'significant impact' on costs, but Fyffes was seeking price increases to offset this, while at the same time pursuing further savings in supply and operating costs.
