Fifteen young entrepreneurs from all over Ireland have been selected as finalists in the Shell LiveWIRE Young Business Start Up Awards. The awards will be presented on May 16 by Noel Treacy, the Minister for Science, Technology and Commerce.
The Awards were open to anyone aged between 16 and 30 whose businesses have been up and running between 3 and 18 months. Last year the overall title of Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year went to Lynda Richards-Stocks from Viking Splash Tours.
The finalists this year are Shane O'Fearghail and David Jones (Spiral Commercial Arthouse Limited), Alvin Cooney (DeoCrystal), Charlotte O'Kelly and Philip Trickett (Techworks Marine), Laurence Parnis (The Super Waffle Company), Michael Faulkner (E-nterprise Net solutions), Grattan Lynch and Rahul Rana (Eirmap), Noel Marshall (Bricky Marshall Tools) Rosemary Wilmot (Wilmots Childcare), Dermot Butler (Butler Furniture), Brian Leslie (PrimaFinance), Michelle Coffey (Premier Captioning & Realtime) and Ciaran Bruen (West IT).
The overall Shell LiveWire Young Business Start Up Winner will receive €5,000 while each of the other four winners will be presented with €1,500.
