Musgrave secures new food deal with Eurest

Musgrave Foodservices has signed a €25 million three-year contract with Eurest Ireland, a provider of catering services to the business, industrial and state sectors. Under the deal, Musgraves will supply Eurest's 160 catering units in Ireland with a full range of food products and consumables.

Eurest is the main operating subsidiary within Compass Group, the world's leading foodservice organisation with annual revenues in excess of £9 billion and a workforce of over 300,000 people in over 90 countries.

'Out-of-home eating' now accounts for almost 30% of the monies spent on food purchases in Ireland and the Musgrave Foodservices business was set up to specifically service this sector.

Peter Foley, Director, Musgrave Foodservices said he was delighted to conclude this contract with a company of the size and prestige of Eurest Ireland.

'Our Foodservices business was created to service a customer base that is primarily made up of pubs, hotels, restaurants and the contract catering sector. We offer a one-stop-shop service that can deliver frozen, chilled and ambient and non-food requirements in one delivery. This new contract with Eurest is a tremendous vote of confidence in Musgrave Foodservices from one of Ireland's best catering companies' he said.

Commenting on the deal, Noel Mahony, Managing Director of Compass Group in Ireland, highlighted Musgrave Foodservices' multi-temperature capability as a key requirement in securing the contract. Last year, Musgrave invested €10 million in a multi-temperature facility in Ballymun.
