Waterford Wedgwood has increased its stake in British ceramics and giftware maker Royal Doulton to over 20.5% by buying 4.7 million shares at a price of 11p sterling per share.
Waterford had previously held a 14.9% stake in the British firm, which last month announced up to 1,000 job losses after reporting a £12.4m sterling loss for 2001.
