KBC Asset Management has been named the pension fund manager of the year in the 2001 IBA/Moneymate Fund awards.
New Ireland Assurance won the best unit linked fund manager, and the best managed growth unit link fund manager for its 'Evergreen Fund'.
Montgomery Oppenheim won the best managed growth pension fund award.
Accepting the award Noel O'Halloran, chief investment officer at KBC, said 2001 was one of the most difficult years in history, and stressed the importance of disciplined investment and risk management as a key to success.
David Swanton, marketing director at New Ireland, congratulated Bank of Ireland Asset Management, which now manages New Ireland's funds.
