Aer Lingus has today announced a new scheduled service from Dublin to Spain's Alicante for the summer months.
The new service to the Costa Blanca resort will start on April 2 with two flights weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. It follows the recent launching of new routes to Malaga, Barcelona and Nice.
Internet fares are available from €142 each way, including taxes, on the new route.
Aer Lingus also said today that it was increasing the frequency on its Malaga service from three to five flights weekly.
The airline's Chief Operations Officer, Seamus Kearney, said he was sure the new Alicante route would add to the already successful seat sale lunched by Aer Lingus in January.
Aer Lingus has committed itself to offering 2.5 million low fares seats in 2002. Since January, over 300,000 of these seats have been sold.
