The multi million euro High Court legal battle between the found of the Master Meats group, Paschal Phelan, and beef baron Larry Goodman ended today after the Phelan side asked for the action to be struck out.
It is understood that both sides are paying their own legal costs for the 60 day hearing.
The High Court case, which began last May, came to a surprise end this afternoon. But no details were given as to why the actions were halted.
Paschal Phelan had been seeking £30 million damages alleging that there was a conspiracy between Larry Goodman, his former partner Zacheria el Taher and others to remove him from Master Meats in 1987.
It was contended that Mr Taher had secretly sold out Mr Phelan to his main competitor Mr Goodman, who denied any wrongdoing.
However, this afternoon the High Court was simply asked by Counsel for Mr Phelan to strike out the actions.
The costs of the lengthy case run to several million euro - it had been expected to run for many more months.
The proceedings taken by Mr Phelan against his former partner Zacheria Taher are set to continue.
