First half profits at Donegal Creameries have risen by 12.6% to 3.2 million euros on 8.9% higher turnover of 70.7 million euros.
Operating profits grew by over 40% to 2.9 million euros while earnings per share were up 10.7% to 27 cents. An interim dividend of 4.75 cents is to be paid.
The company said turnover growth of over 20% in its dairy division to 24.4 million euros led to increased profits, despite increased costs arising from foot and mouth restrictions.
Increased animal feed sales helped push turnover in the agricultural and other trading division up 3.6% to 46.3 million euros. Profits also rose in this division.
Donegal Creameries says turnover and profits in its mushroom operations dropped, mainly because of low yields in its UK sites.
