Bord Gais says it has signed up its first electricity customer, Amann Industries, a high-tech German owned manufacturer based in Tralee, Co Kerry.
The company says it has also concluded supply arrangements with a number of large energy users in the telecommunications, software development and electronics industries.
Bord Gais is already operating in the electricity market through its Combined Heat and Power (CHP) operations.
