Co Monaghan-based Combilift has been selected as the second of five finalists in the DHL Export Awards 2001. The company, which employs 60 people in Clontibret, was the first to develop an engine powered four-way forklift, which is now being exported to 28 countries worldwide.
Turnover at the company is expected to exceed £1 million a month this year and Combilift plans for a growth of 50% over the next 12 months. It also plans to expand its workforce to 75.
The DHL Export Award is designed to show recognition to Irish companies involved in exporting and to develop awareness of the vital role which small businesses play in the economic development of the country.
Dublin-based TDI Group, an international consulting company serving emerging markets and international development agencies, has already been selected as a finalist in this year's awards. Three more companies will be chosen later this year.
The awards are organised in conjunction with the Irish Exporters Association, Enterprise Ireland and the Small Firms Association. The overall winner will be announced next January.
