80 new hi-tech jobs for Dublin

A software company that provides services for the banking and insurance industry is to create 80 new jobs in Dublin.

The £4 million project, which goes against a recent trend of job losses in the hi-tech sector here, was announced this morning by the Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Mary Harney.

She said the new posts would result from an expansion programme in Dublin by the Aspect Software International company over the next two years. The company is a leading provider of operational customer relationship management applications for the European banking and insurance industry.

Among the company's clients are Irish Life and Permanent, GMAC, Bank of Ireland and ING.

The Tanaiste said that Aspect Software is recognised as one of Europe's fastest growing companies and added that Deloitte and Touche's Fast50 survey recently rated them as the 13th fastest growing technology company in Ireland for achieving growth rates of over 300% over the past four years.
