Air France adds more Dublin flights

Air France, Europe's third largest airline, is to add extra flights connecting Dublin and Birmingham with Paris's Charles de Gaulle airport.

Air France is predicting strong growth in British and Irish markets, and is especially hoping to attract long-haul passengers wo might otherwise choose local carriers such as Aer Lingus.

The airline said it had carried 1.7 million passengers from Britain and Ireland in the first nine months of its financial year from April to December, an increase of 15% on the same period a year earlier. It is forecasting further 8% to 9% growth in its new financial year.
