No Go bid, says Dutch airline KLM

Holland's national airline KLM has denied media reports that it made a conditional bid to buy British Airways' low cost subsidiary Go in a joint venture with a private equity group.

According to a report in today's Financial Times, BA was hoping to sell Go for around £100 million.

The Dutch airline said today that it was still working on its options in the low-cost airline sector. These options could include a bid for Go, but could also take KLM out of the low cost market altogether, an airline spokesman said.

British Airways decided to sell Go last November as part of a rationalistion of its European operations and hoped to complete a dead by the end of March.

KLM already operates Buzz, another low-cost operations, from Stansted airport in London.

Ryanair, Europe's leading low fares airline, has already said it would not be interested in buying Go.
