EBS says growth in managed funds business tripled in 2000

EBS Building Society has reported a tripling of growth in new business in its managed funds subsidiary EBS Asset Managers last year.

New business increased from £51m in 1999 to £162m.

EBS says the continued growth in personal wealth is encouraging more people to invest in managed funds.

It also says its mutual status gives it a competitive edge, as there are no entry or exit costs for lump sum investors.
