Aer Rianta has for the first time accepted that a flotation of the company will not take place this year.
The company confirmed this at a news conference on further developments at Dublin airport to cater for the expected 20 million passengers by the year 2006. This is six million more than were handled last year.
£300m is being invested in terminal building and apron extensions, taxiways and roadworks.
Aer Rianta says priority will be given to a rail link with preparations for both the underground Metro and Luas already underway.
