British-based exploration company Angus & Ross has identified three drilling targets in County Carlow, having spent the year conducting geological studies on its eight prospecting licences in the area.
Angus & Ross is looking for the metal tantalum, which is used in a range of electronic products including mobile phones.
The company says the price of tantalum has risen by 15% this year as new sources of supply have not come on stream.
