Planned Ryanair Strike Action is Deferred

The planned one day strike by Ryanair pilots on Friday has been deferred.

A spokesperson for the IMPACT union said the decision followed a meeting with management this afternoon.

IMPACT assistant general secretary Michael Landers said that the pilots would be meeting again on Friday to discuss the latest proposals.

The pilots voted last week to stage the strike over working hours.

Ryanair's chief executive, Michael O'Leary, said the strike threat was the latest evidence of its pilots being 'entirely and deliberately misled' by IMPACT, and said pilots were currently rostered for 26 hours a week.
