The latest edition of the Irish Permanent House Price Index - compiled in association with the ESRI - reveals that national house prices are still rising by over 20% a year.
Prices rose by 1% during the month of October, compared with a rise of 0.5% in September.
In the 12 months to October, national house prices rose by 20.3%, after annual rises of 20.6% in September and 21.6% in August.
In Dublin, house prices have risen by 19.2% so far this year. The rate of increase for the rest of the country is 16.3%.
