CRH has agreed to buy the Swiss cement firm, Jura Group, for 425 million euros in cash. Jura is the second largest cement maker in Switzerland.
The company says it plans to dispose of Jura assets worth 157 million euros which are not core to its business.
Jura is expected to report profits of around 38 million euros on sales of 326 million euro this year.
