Trail Tips:

Navigation: This section of the Dublin Mountains Way is waymarked. Carry a map or use a navigation app, as paths on the open mountain can be less distinct in poor visibility.

Weather: The Dublin Mountains are exposed, and conditions can change rapidly. Always bring waterproofs and an extra layer, regardless of the weather in the city below.

What to Bring: Sturdy hiking boots are essential. Bring waterproofs, plenty of water, snacks, and a fully charged phone.

Getting There: Tibradden Wood is accessible by car and has a car park. Check Dublin Bus for the nearest bus routes and connections.

Trail Conditions: Paths can be boggy and wet, particularly on open sections. Conditions vary seasonally, so check locally before setting out after heavy rain.

About the Dublin Mountains Way:

The Dublin Mountains Way is a 43km walking trail stretching from Shankill on the south coast to Tallaght, passing through some of the most scenic upland terrain close to any European capital city.

The area around Tibradden contains the remains of Bronze Age tombs and offers sweeping views across Dublin Bay and the city below. The Dublin Mountains Partnership manages a network of trails in this area. For more information, visit dublinmountains.ie.
