Waterford has been named the top destination in Ireland by Condé Nast Traveller, in a list of the must-see places to visit in Ireland.
Condé Nast Traveller is a long-running travel publications, known for unearthing hidden gems with the assistance of expert contributors from across the globe. The publication often shares round-ups of the best places to visit in certain countries, and The Déise has topped their list of the 7 Wonders of Ireland for a second year in a row.
The article, written by Chief Sub-Editor for the publication Grainne McBride, offers a list of some lesser known parts of the country to explore, with Waterford's Copper Coast and Greenway at the top.

Just in time for summer, the article points to a number of beaches, calling them some of the "most beautiful, empty and underrated beaches in Ireland – from the sea caves of Trá na mBó and the cake-layer cliffs of Stradbally Cove to the sublime swimming at Guillamene (for men only until the 1980s) and the family-friendly scoop of Kilmurrin".
The Greenway is a top destination, a 46km-long car-free path that stretches from Waterford City to Dún Garbháin (Dungarven), which is 10km away from An Rinn, the county's Gaeltacht region. McBride suggests stopping off at Mount Congreve, a stunning Georgian estate near the River Suir, for an elegant pit stop as you pass through viaducts and over bridges.

Elsewhere on the list are breathtaking destinations including the Fermanagh Lakelands and the passage tombs of the Ancient East.
