Dublin seafood restaurant SOLE has been named as one of the best fine dining spots in Europe by Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice Best of the Best Awards.
Every year, the travel publication celebrates travellers' favourite destinations, hotels, restaurants, and things to do around the world, based on reviews and ratings collected over 12 months.
Usually, Tripadvisor's awards fall into two categories: Best of the Best and Travellers' Choice. This makes the Travellers' Choice Best of the Best their highest honour, celebrating the highest level of excellence in travel.
According to the site, the accolades are awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community. Out of their eight million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this milestone.
Renowned for its "shore to soil" ethos, SOLE is a glamorous spot located on Dublin's Drury Street, and features such culinary delights as fresh oysters pulled from coastal waters, beef that is dry-aged in-house by its chefs, Howth smoked salmon and Irish lobsters.
In operation since 2018, the restaurant has gone on to win a number of prestigious awards, notably nabbing the best Luxury Seafood Restaurant award at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards seven times.
Tripadvisor's travellers recommended the restaurant's "modern, comfortable urban sophistication".
It came in at number 11 thanks to its fresh seafood, with many noting the diverse selection of fish, shellfish, and meat, as well as the impressive presentation of the dishes.
According to the site, "the knowledgeable and friendly staff enhance the experience, and the lively atmosphere keeps things fun".
