British Vogue journalist Gilly Hopper published a list of the top ten things to do in our fair city. Do you think she found the best spots Dublin has to offer?

Described as "an intimate city with a bellowing reputation for storytelling and gastronomy" Vogue says the city holds an "infectious pursuit for the 'craic'".

Here are the top ten Dublin recommendations.

1. Visit: The Marker

If you find yourself around the Docklands or need a place to stay overnight in the city, BV says that The Marker Hotel is for you. "Its dominant checkered façade cascades over its neighbours, setting the aesthetic tone for a developing borough populated by start-ups and tech mavericks."

2. Shopping: Roads Publishing

Looking for an elegant gift for the literary lover in your life? BV describes Roads Publishing as embodying "elegance and innovation, working with the best international artists, curators and designers to create books that are collectable"

3. Eat & Drink: Bastible

Feeling peckish? Bastible is one of Dublin's trendiest spots. "From simple to the complex, Bastible, a contemporary neighbourhood bistro, focuses on seasonal produce and an eclectic set menu."

4. Visit: Francis Bacon's Studio at The Hugh Lane Gallery

If you're looking for a little culture in your life, head over to the Hugh Lane Gallery to take in "Bacon’s chaotic working space, which conserves photographic materials, slashed canvases and some two thousand samples of Bacon's painting materials."

5. Shop: Article

Doing a little shopping in the city? If you find yourself in Powerscourt Shopping Centre you will find a homeware story called Article where you can choose from "sumptuous Irish woollen throws, colourful stationary and glassware."

6. Eat & Drink: 777

Mexican food is all the rage in Dublin these days and it seems that hotspot 777 caught BV's attention. "The intimate foodie cavern is ordained with candles and top-to-toe tiling."

7. Visit: The Long Room

Trinity College Dublin's library is a thing of beauty. The Long Room will make you feel like you're attending Hogwarts and BV recommends you "count the 48 marble busts of eminent writers" during your visit.

8. Eat & Drink: The Westbury

The Westbury is an ideal spot to treat yourself to an elegant afternoon tea or decadent brunch. The fashion magazine paid special attention to the Sidecar bar in particular "The Twenties style bar is filled with tarnished mirror walls and marble tables, a stand-out space in the newly revamped hotel."

9. Eat & Drink: Forest & Macy or Forest Avenue Restaurant

Both Forest & Macy and Forest Avenue are all about elegant dining with good and natural ingredients. "For lunch or dinner, choose from two bespoke restaurants created by culinary duo John and Sandy Wyer."

10. Visit: The Dean

If you're looking for a trendy place to chill then The Dean might be the spot for you. "On arrival, clock the Tracy Emin neon work I Fell in Love Here hanging overhead and grab a fresh pressed juice from the lobby bar pre check-in."
