Aer Lingus has announced its winter programme for 2016/2017, with a total of 400,000 seats on flights to several sun destinations. A number of key routes get extra capacity and Lanzarote's popularity as a winter destination is evidenced by the fact that Aer Lingus is now offering 100,000 seats from Dublin, Cork and Shannon.
Flights increase from seven to eight flights per week and larger aircraft will be used at weekends. Malaga comes in second with 80,000 seats on offer and nine weekly services from Dublin and Cork.
Flights to Faro from Dublin will increase from three weekly services to five and there will be a daily Dublin to Lisbon service also. Flights are also being increased for Las Palmas; Gran Canaria; Tenerife and Fuerteventura.
Prices for Dublin to Lanzarote go on sale from €74.99 each way; Dublin to Faro for €34.99; Cork to Lanzarote from €79.99 and Cork to Malaga from €59.99. But not for long!
