Earlier this Summer, food writer Chester Ollivier set out to find the best burgers in all of Europe. From gourmet stacks of beef patties to cheap, quick and cheesy bites, Ollivier traversed the continent to find the best of the best.
Published in Big 7, a travel site and media company that specialises in rounding up the best experiences, food and drink spots and activities around the world, the list offers up 50 must-try burgers.
Happily, Ireland made the cut with two delicious entries: Phat Bastrd Burger in Belfast and Bunsen Burger in Dublin.
Coming in at number 17, Phat Bastrd Burger was praised for having one of the "boldest names" in the business as well as serving "in-your-face burgers" to anyone who walks through their doors.
Winners of Northern Ireland’s Best Takeaway in 2023, the restaurant is known for pairing New Zealand Wagyu Beef with local produce to produce mouth-watering meals.
At number three on the list is Bunsen Burger, an iconic spot that has just two burgers on its menu: hamburgers and cheeseburgers.
The restaurant was praised for being a "true bargain as far as city centre prices go".
As Ollivier says: "Nothing fancy, nothing over-the-top, just comfort food at its absolute best."
