SOLE Seafood & Grill has been named the best luxury seafood restaurant in Europe for the fifth time in a row.

The Dublin restaurant scooped the award at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards, which is a highly competitive and prestigious award ceremony, which sees leading culinary establishments competing from across the world.

The awards are presented on a country, regional, continent, and global basis. Winners are selected via online public vote, providing true recognition that reflects the hard work and dedication exhibited by staff.

This year, the ceremony – which was held in Athens, Greece – saw scores of the world's top luxury restaurants battle it out for glory. Culinary director Richie Wilson and head chef Oscar Mingyi Chen of SOLE Seafood & Grill accepted the award on behalf of the restaurant.

SOLE first won this award in 2019, just one year after they opened their doors on South William Street. In 2020 they won Best Luxury Seafood Restaurant in Ireland, and then won Best Luxury Seafood Restaurant in Europe again in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Posting about their win on Instagram, Wilson and Chen wrote: "We are thrilled to retain this award and to be amongst the best restaurants in the world is a feeling like no other. Winning this award 5 years in a row is a testament to the continuous hard work and dedication of our entire SOLE team.

"We are thankful for each guest that we have welcomed through our doors, our wonderful producers, local suppliers, partners and employees who have all made SOLE the success it is today."

Renowned for its "shore to soil" ethos, SOLE is a glamorous spot and features such culinary delights as fresh oysters pulled from coastal waters, beef that is dry-aged in-house by its chefs, Howth smoked salmon and Irish lobsters.

It also offers an exclusive Calvisius Caviar Experience where guests taste Ars Italica Calvisius Caviar, one of the most exquisite delicacies in world cuisine.

It was also visited by pop megastar Harry Styles when he visited Dublin with then-girlfriend Olivia Wilde in 2022.

Malpeque in Mexico nabbed the award for Best Luxury Seafood Restaurant in the world.
