Dublin's FX Buckley has been named as one of the best steakhouses in the world, in a new ranking of the 101 top spots worldwide.
The popular restaurant, located on Lower Pembroke Street, was voted number six worldwide, making it "the highest climber in Europe" in the list, as well as the only Irish restaurant on the list.
The list was compiled by World's Best Steaks, an online ranking publication founded in 2018 by Upper Cut Media House, which has released four rankings of the top steakhouses in the world.
Writing about FX Buckley, the editors started their summary simply: "100% Irish - 100% quality."

They noted that the Buckley family garnered "legendary status in Dublin over the last six generations – originally as butchers and purveyors of the finest quality meats, and subsequently as operators of some of the nation's favourite steakhouses, gastro-pubs and bars".
They also highlighted how they source Angus and Hereford beef, with "steak cuts from heifers only are grazed for at least two years on the finest quality Irish grass, which means that there’s lots of time for a good layer of marbling to build up – for that extra special flavour".
Last year, the restaurant ranked 18th on the list.
As well as the main restaurant, the Buckley Collection is a group of steakhouses, gastro pubs, bars, and a grocery store, and the brand supplies meat products to a range of specialty shops across the country.
Posting about the ranking on Instagra, the FX Buckley team said: "This incredible achievement wouldn't have been possible without the continuous support and appreciation of our amazing patrons. Your love for our exceptional steaks has propelled us to new heights!"
Traditionally, large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire. To achieve a similar flavour we start our Sunday roast rump on real charcoal, and finish slowly in the oven. pic.twitter.com/DrcQAeRbjw
