The winners of the Good Food Awards 2023 were revealed this week in a glamorous lunch celebrating the best of Irish produce.

The ceremony took place in The K Club in County Kildare and was attended by Guest of Honour Simon Coveney, T.D., Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment and some 300 guests, which included some of the country's best chefs, farmers, producers and artisans.

It was the awards' first in-person ceremony since the Covid-19 pandemic, so was an especially merry occasion.

The awards are known for its focus on developing and highlighting Irish producers, signalling to consumers that Irish food and drink is a thriving and exciting industry. The cross-sector awards cover the entire span of the country, but one county came out on top.

Cork brought home the most amount of awards, with Ballymaloe House Hotel named Culinary Haven of the Year. The house also won the Excellence in Food Tourism award for their Cookery School Organic Farm and Gardens, which supplies the restaurant also.

On top of this, Five Farms Irish Cream won Drinks Producer of the Year and The Lifeboat Inn won the public-voted Food Lovers Choice Award for the Wild Atlantic Way region.

As for hospitality, The Europe Hotel & Resort in Co. Kerry scooped the Supreme Award of The Year.

Declan Ryan, a celebrated chef who won his first Michelin star in 1974, was presented with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his remarkable lifelong achievement in the food industry.

Fish and Seafood Producer of the Year - Realt na Mara Shellfish, Kerry

Drinks Producer of the Year - Five Farms Irish Cream, Cork

Dairy Producer of the Year - Killowen Farm, Wexford

Jams and Savoury Producer of the Year - Wild Irish Foragers & Preservers, Offaly

Bakery and Chocolate Producer of the Year - Jinny's Bakery & Tea Rooms, Leitrim

Producer of the Year - The Apple Farm, Tipperary
