The best pubs in Ireland have been revealed, after the Irish Pub Awards took place last night.
With a glamorous gala held in The Round Room at The Mansion House on Dublin's Dawson St, the bar industry was celebrated after two years of pandemic challenges.
Gleesons of Booterstown in Co. Dublin was named the National Pub of the Year. The contemporary bar and lounge is part of the boutique hotel itself, and is known for its relaxed and warm atmosphere.

It started off as a pub and grocery, which was bought by Frank and Nora Gleeson in 1954 and then extended into a pub and lounge, which has become known for its food offering.
O'Connells Bar in Eyre Square was named as The Best Outdoor Space in Ireland. After starting life as a grocery store, the space was transformed into a pub in the 1970s and has since become a go-to spot for Galway's revellers.

It has since retained many of the antique features from its hey day, but it's outside that many are drawn to: the beer garden, with Dough Bros Pizza and other vendors slinging out plates of food.
A good gastropub is particularly special, and Collins Bar & Restaurant in Dooradoyle, Co. Limerick won the award for Best Food Pub. The gong for Best Late Night Bar went to The Reg in Waterford City, while O'Connell's in Howth, Co. Dublin was named best Tourist Pub.
