There are few things as comforting as finding your own go-to coffee spot, the cafe you visit on sunny days, rainy days and all days in between.

It's a personal thing, so it's no wonder that when you ask people to vote on their favourite cafe the results can be divisive.

While there are bona fide coffee destinations in every city, where baristas follow the latest trends and the shelves are lined with buzzy coffee roasters, there are just as many hidden gems to be discovered.

Coffee supply company Coffee Friends carried out a survey on the best coffee shops to try in Dublin. Taking into account ratings and reviews from TripAdviser, the team chose the top 15 coffee spots with an overall excellence percentage of 80% or more.

Topping the list was Coffee Angel on Trinity Street, followed by Cora Knows Best on Great Denmark Street and then by the Tranquil Tea Rooms at Deansgrange Cemetery.

Also making the list was dynamic cafe Bang Bang on Phibsboro's Leinster Street, as well as the renwoned Nick's Coffee Company in Ranelagh which has been a beacon for coffee lovers for years. Rounding out the list is cult favourite Laine, My Love on Talbot Street.
