The foodie festival is back with a bang.
The foodie festival is back with a bang.

Get out your walking shoes and pack a brolly in case: Taste of Dublin is back this September with a bevy of celebrated chefs, bakers and cooks lined up.

After a year of outdoor dining, grabbing treats on walks and braving the rain for the sake of a really good coffee and pastry, the food spectacular is back and ready to tickle our tastebuds with some of the best cooking in the city.

Food has become even more important to us over the last year, as it was one of the few activities many of us could take part in safely while also seeing friends and family. With a renewed love of Irish produce also running through us, we couldn't be more excited to see what the chefs have on offer this year.

Returning to Dublin's Iveagh Gardens, Taste will run from Wednesday, 1 September to Sunday, 5 September, and will operate with a reduced capacity in line with government guidelines. But don't worry about not making the cut, the event will run for five days instead of three to ensure more people get to drop by the fabulous festival.

The Taste Theatre stage will include some of Ireland's Michelin-starred chefs this year. Jordan Bailey of two-starred Aimsir, JP McMahon of Aniar, Galway and Jess Murphy of Kai, Galway will join Taste stalwarts Rachel Allen, Kevin Dundon, pastry chef Aoife Noonan and more.

Host of Battle of the Food Trucks, Eric Matthews, and Instagram sensation Trisha Lewis will also feature in the line-up.

And then there's the food itself, as some of the most exciting and delicious restaurants in the country set up stalls and dish up tasty bites.Pickle, Hang Dai, The Salty Buoy by Niall Sabongi, The Chop House, Bites by Kwanghi, The Port House, Jackrabbit, King Sitric and Three Twenty Ice Cream will be serving up their greatest hits.

For those who want a little more luxury, the Fercullen Irish Whiskey VIP Garden will be available for VIPs, whose tickets allow them to skip queues, take part in masterclasses and sit in the comfortable VIP tent.

On the Food for Thought stage there will be fantastic talks for those who want to learn more about food, including Hidden Ireland – inspiring talks revealing the country's hidden food spots – and Cookbook Corner – where your favourite chef speak about their go to books.

And ensuring that there's plenty to keep guests occupied, new to the festival this year is Arts & Culture at Taste of Dublin. The collaboration with Culture Vultures,The Laughter Lounge, and The Gaiety School of Acting will bring performances, comedy, and theatre shows to the festival.

Tickets start from €20 (ex. booking fee) and are on sale now from tasteofdublin.ie.
