Hosted by Liam Charles and Tom Allen, Bake Off: The Professionals invites teams from top hotels, restaurants and small businesses to battle it out for the GBBO crown.
Once again, judges Cherish Finden and Benoit Blin will set a pair of exceedingly difficult challenges ranging from dramatic show pieces to technically tricky masterpieces - all under a series of stressful time limits.
This year's series will start on Tuesday, 25 May on Channel 4, and will feature the talents of an Irish pastry chef.
Galway woman Rebecca Piccione is an accomplished pastry chef with experience in both Britain and Ireland. On Bake Off, she will be supporting her friend and former colleague Keiron George, a luxury cake designer from London.
Piccione kicked off her career with a Bachelor of Business in Culinary Arts from GMIT before going on to study in London, where she fell in love with the pastry side of the culinary world.
Both Kieran and Rebecca worked their way up through some of London's finest hotels and establishments such as the five-star Landmark Hotel, The Dorchester, and Fortnum & Mason before working together at Hotel Café Royal.
From there, Keiron went on to set up his own luxury cake shop in 2015, aptly named Keiron George Cake Design, while Rebecca returned to Ireland to join The Clayton Hotel as Head Pastry Chef in 2020.
The talented duo say they are constantly learning from each other but are always putting fun and friendship at the core of everything they do. The team hope that their combined experience, knowledge and friendship will put them one step ahead of the pack.
Sharing the news of her GBBO appearance on Instagram, Rebecca said:
"Time to reveal the hardest secret I've ever had to keep! I thought what better way to make 2020/21 a bit more crazy than entering one of the hardest pastry competitions with some of the most talented chefs I've ever seen! Especially my favourite and extremely skilled @keiron_george"
Bake Off: The Professionals will start on Tuesday, 25 May at 8pm on Channel 4
