When it comes to climate change, food is perhaps the area where each and every one of us can have the greatest influence.
Over one quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions are attributable to the food system, which includes everything from production, transportation and consumption. So making changes to the food that you eat can have a direct impact on reducing your environmental footprint.
Dr Marco Springmann, a Senior Researcher in Population Health at Oxford University, was part of the expert panel for RTÉ's What Planet Are You On? series but his advice to three families taking part has angered members of the Irish farming community.
