Now in its third season, Tastes Like Home is back and delving ever deeper into the lives of people living abroad, tradition and the food that roots us to home.
In tonight's episode, Catherine follows the path countless Irish people have made and journeys from Dublin (specifically Lusk) to Sydney, Australia. In the course of this trip, she meets a family divided by no less than 17,204 km but bound by their love of food.
In Lusk, Catherine spends time with Kate Sweetman and her husband Noel, taking in the sights at Lusk Round Tower before Kate shows her how to make her daughter Sarah's favourite dish, homemade vegetable soup and soda bread.
From here, Catherine jets off to meet the other half of his family unit, Sarah, currently living in Sydney, with the hopes of recreating her mother's vegetable soup recipe for Sarah and her partner, Aaron Howley.

As well as this, Catherine soaks up the diverse art and foodie culture in Sydney, visiting the famous Sydney Opera House, gets a tour of the historic Rocks area - a tourist hub - and even learns about Aussie Rules Football from an Irish player, Colin O’Riordan who hails from Co. Tipperary and is now a member of the Sydney Swans Aussie Rules Football Team.
Ever the gourmand, Catherine manages to squeeze in some local cuisine, such as the famous Chicken Parmy, which is a favourite of Sarah and Aaron, taking that inspiration to whip up a surf 'n' turf salad with a citrus dressing. She also puruses the famous Sydney Fish Market and we learn about Indigenous cuisine from the head Chef at 12-Micron Restaurant.
