Berenice Beukes moved from Cape Town, South Africa to Sligo five years ago. She is the eldest of 5 children and misses her mum Lorraine dearly.
Now living in Sligo with her children - two sons and one daughter - Bernice has fallen in love with rural living and her new Irish community.
She loves the ocean and mountains surrounding Sligo (they remind her of Cape Town apparently!) and has an active role in her community. However, that doesn't mean she doesn't get homesick from time to time.

One of her favourite dishes that she misses the most from home is her mother's Sugar Bean Curry. Now, Catherine is on a mission to replicate this dish by learning from the woman herself.
Also in this episode, Catherine visits a five-star wine estate, the V&A Waterfront, food market & Cape Wheel, plus a cooking class with Zainie Misbach to learn the secrets to making Cape Malay Curries.
