It’s one of the biggest prizes in Irish television history – €100,000 plus getting your new food product on the shelves of 140 Lidl stores across the country.
On episode two of The Taste of Success, it’s Munster in the spotlight. Fishy Fishy restaurant’s Martin Shanahan is up and the stakes are high. He’s the reigning champion, winning the competition last year as mentor to Padraig McCarthy from Limerick. But will one of Martin’s six take him all the way again?
Tonight we meet Clonakilty mum-of-two Antoinette, who’s getting a second chance with her dish. Metal Fabricator Rob from Cork city hopes his salsa will see him to the final, while Culinary Arts student Claire from Middleton definitely has some swing behind her. José from Shannon takes a humble Irish ingredient and adds some Spanish flair, Ross from Co. Kerry is hoping the €100,000 will turn his luck around, and beachcomber Sykoni from Bantry needs all the ‘kelp’ she can get.
Six contestants will showcase their wares, with only two progressing to the next round. Who will be in line to win The Taste of Success?
RTE One’s The Taste of Success is on Tuesday Sept 15 at 8.30pm.
