The third week of heats sees six new amateur cooks enter the MasterChef kitchen in the hopes of making it through to the Final 10.

On tonight's show (March 18) we'll meet Liam Murray, a 32-year-old army lieutenant from Ballinsasloe. Having just gotten married days before entering the kitchen, he's the first chef to spend his honeymoon trying to impress Nick and Dylan.

Edel Byrne is a 37-year-old full time mum from Dublin and she is hopeful that taking part in MasterChef will be a stepping stone to a new career in food with her ultimate dream being to own her own cookery school.

22-year-old Kerri Ward is keen to experience the heat and pressure of a real kitchen and to see if her creations would be up to scratch.

Darina Coffey, a 25-year-old Cork native feels that MasterChef is a great opportunity to enhance her cooking skills and give her life a new direction.

Landscape gardener Michael Corr has a passion for fresh produce and natural ingredients and he hopes this will set him apart from the rest with the judges.

Mum of four Nessa Collinge prides herself in making appetizing food from limited ingredients and is hopeful she can make it through to the top 10.
