The RTÉ Guide team have published an 84-page food special called taste which is on sale now.
The magazine has had an intimate relationship with food since its very beginning over 50 years ago. Back then, Monica Sheridan taught people how to bake the perfect fruit scone, then Honor Moore guided readers through exotic tastes from around the globe as Irish people became more adventurous with their cooking.
When cooking moved to prime-time TV, the RTÉ Guide food pages were home to up and coming chefs like Rachel Allen, Donal Skehan, Catherine Fulvio and many more who have since become household names. This great bond between the Guide and the wonderful world of food blossomed and enthusiastic home-cooks tore out the pages for weekly inspiration.
It’s from that love of cooking, baking, experimenting and making that taste was born. An 84-page seasonal food magazine that’s absolutely jam-packed with delicious recipes, tips and tricks from the Guide’s contributing celebrity chefs including Neven Maguire, Rick Stein, Clodagh McKenna, the Hairy Bikers and many more.
There’s also insider information on what you should be eating through the autumn and winter months. From easy and quick family dinners to lazy Sunday brunch delights, heart-warming soups and scrumptious winter baking, the hope is that this first issue of taste sits on your kitchen counter, covered in buttery blots and floury fingerprints – as all good food bibles should!
